Give up?
I've really liked this guy for almost a year. He's smart, cute, and makes me laugh. He knows that I've like[d] him since I've asked him out but he said no. But he's really wrapped up in school and isn't really that interested in girls yet. I would have told most people in my situation that they should give up but I rarely like anybody and when I like somebody I like them a lot and just liking him has been really good for me. The problem is that I wouldn't really see him over the summer but once school starts up again we will have band together and we both play the same instrument so I will be talking to him again. I don't know if I should just forget about him over the summer since once school starts up again, if I still like him, I wouldn't stop liking him(since I'll see him almost every day). Should I give up and move on or last the summer and keep enjoying liking him?

Forget him. Hes gay. Any guy who says no to a girl like that has to be. Unless he thinks your VERY unattractive, in which case you should forget him anyway, he aint worth your time.
If you must, ask him again, and if he says no ask why. If he says some bullshit like 'im not ready for that' then you KNOW he either thinks your ugly or hes gay. Just tell him, 'Grow up,' or 'go F@!k yourself.' Easy as that. Theres plenty of guys out there, and you dont need to degrade yourself to a beggar for any one man. Take this advice and youll begin attracting MEN (aka mature guys) like rotten apples attract gnats, so you wont have to ever bother with little boys.
If you've already liked him
If you've already liked him for almost a year, and you'll see him again in the fall, and you're enjoying liking him now-- why give up? It sounds like things are working out well for you...
