i'm 17 and new to the whole dating scene. Honestly i have never really bothered with it until now. I have recently met a girl who i think is amazing and i found out that she is interested in me as well, i told her how i felt and she said that we should go on a few dates as friends first to get to know each other better. she is comming to see me perform in a band later this week, i play the saxaphone, what should i do on these dates? because i dont want to come on too strong. i find this whole thing really difficult?

Since she said "as friends," it probably means don't kiss/put the moves on her. Instead, just hang out, have a good time, and, as she said, get to know her.
If you're really not sure what to do with the boyfriend-girlfriend stuff, because she's sending mixed signals, just let her make the first moves for the first couple dates. After that, once you've got some experience, use your own judgment.
